Emotional Intelligence Coaching
Emotional Intelligence is the ability to recognize and manage emotions - yours and others'. Daniel Goleman, Ph.D., author of Working with Emotional Intelligence, identifies 200 emotional intelligence-based competencies that include:
- Self-awareness
- Self-regulation
- Self-motivation
- Social Awareness
- Social Skills
Other researchers have determined that every competency has a "tipping point" of proficiency that separates high performers from others, and that if emotional competencies are improved, there can be sustainable improvement in job performance.
Emotional Competence Inventory (ECI)
Linda Koenig is a certified provider of the Emotional Competence Inventory (ECI). The
ECI is an instrument that assesses 20 emotional competencies and is reported
both individually and organizationally. The inventory can be used as a workforce
audit, and as the basis for leadership coaching to increase emotional
intelligence.
